Pune, Nagar Road \u2013 Considering the increasing traffic issues and the rising number of road accidents, WACO Welfare Association (Team WACO), a Socio-welfare and Public interest Organization in Wagholi, has strongly demanded the urgent implementation of an AI (Artificial Intelligence) – based Traffic Management System on the Nagar Road stretch from Yerwada to Wagholi.<\/p>\n
Nagar Road is one of the most important and consistently congested routes in Pune, with numerous residential societies, educational institutions, hospitals, IT parks, malls, and commercial hubs located along this corridor. As a result, lakhs of vehicles travel this route daily. However, the current outdated and insufficient traffic management system is failing to cope, leading to severe traffic congestion, frequent signal violations, illegal parking, and increasing road accidents.<\/p>\n
In view of these challenges, Team WACO has submitted an official representation to the Commissioner of Pune Municipal Corporation, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic), Pune City, and the Chief Engineer (Projects) Office, PMC, requesting immediate action.<\/p>\n

1. AI-based Traffic Signal Control System \u2013 Real-time optimization of signal timings based on actual traffic volume
\n2. CCTV and AI-based Enforcement \u2013 Immediate action on signal violations, illegal parking, and wrong-side driving
\n3. Continuous Monitoring of Accident-Prone Zones \u2013 Along with a dynamic response mechanism
\n4. Green Corridor Signal Clearance for Emergency Vehicles \u2013 Ambulances, fire trucks, and police vehicles
\n5. Data-Driven Traffic Planning \u2013 Long-term strategies based on real-time traffic data analytics
\n6. Strict Action on Roadside Encroachments and Unauthorized Parking \u2013 Especially on the Nagar Road stretch
\n7. Ensuring Pedestrian and Cyclist Safety \u2013 With well-maintained footpaths and cycle tracks<\/p>\n
Team WACO believes that implementing such a smart and modern system will make traffic on Nagar Road more streamlined, safer, and faster, thus significantly improving daily commutes for citizens.<\/p>\n
