Pune – “Education is not just about bookish knowledge. When combined with real-world experience, it becomes truly complete,” stated Mr. Sammit Shah, President of Practical B.Com., at the inaugural and induction ceremony of an innovative new course launched at Garware College, Pune. The program is a joint initiative by Maharashtra Education Society and Practical Edu-Skills.

The event was graced by dignitaries including Mr. Sammit Shah, Dr. Atul Kulkarni (Chief Secretary, Maharashtra Education Society), Dr. Mansi Bhate, Dubai-based Chartered Accountant Rajendra Singh Nagiyal, Dr. Hajirnis (President, Skills Development Centre), Dr. Sujata Admuthe, along with a large gathering of students and parents.

In his keynote address, Mr. Shah emphasized, “Commerce is not limited to accounting; it is a way of life. This course will allow students to gain hands-on industry experience while pursuing their graduation. They will be offered internships and job opportunities in CA firms and corporate offices. A degree coupled with practical experience is the real strength of education.”

Dr. Atul Kulkarni added, “It is commendable that the Maharashtra Education Society is moving beyond traditional learning and offering real-world exposure to students. Times have changed – a degree alone no longer guarantees employment. Practical experience is equally essential. In that light, Practical B.Com.’s work is highly appreciable.”

Mr. Rajendra Singh Nagiyal said, “There is a shortage of practical accountants not just in India, but in Dubai as well. Students trained here will be eligible for global opportunities. I am always available to support them in this journey.”

Dr. Hajirnis underlined the importance of effective communication between parents and students.

Dr. Sujata Admuthe remarked, “This program has not only launched a new course but has sparked fresh dreams. Students will not just learn—they will evolve, gain real experience, and build successful careers.”

The event was compered by Ms. Kavita Awasthi, and the vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Sujata Admuthe.
