pune , Under the ongoing campaign “Nanhe Farishte”, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) Thana Pune and Crime Prevention & Detection Squad (CPDS)/Pune have once again demonstrated commendable work by tracing out and rescuing three minor boys who had missing from Peddapuram, Andhra Pradesh.

On 21.08.2025, information was received from Shri P. Kr Das, ASC Pune regarding 03 minor boys who had left for school but did not return back to home. An missing FIR had been lodged at Peddapuram Police Station, Andhra Pradesh (CR No. 324/2025).
There was a strong suspicion that the boys might travel towards Mumbai by train, and urgent instructions were issued to trace them.

Considering the seriousness of the situation and the risk of the children falling prey to human traffickers, a special team was constituted under the directions of Sr. DSC/PA & ASC/PA, and under the guidance of ASC Pune. The team, comprising RPF Pune officials, started thorough checking on trains arriving from the South and moving towards Mumbai at Pune Railway Station.

During the search, while checking Train No. 12702 Hussain Sagar Express, the joint team identified three boys whose physical appearance matched the photographs received. The boys were taken into confidence and gently questioned. On inquiry, they revealed that they had left home due to scolding from parents and lack of interest in studies, and were heading towards Mumbai without informing their families.

Immediate information was passed to Peddapuram Police Station confirming that the children were found safe. For their protection, medical examinations were conducted and the minors were produced before the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) Pune. As per CWC orders, the boys were shifted to Sathi Sanstha Shelter Home, Dhole Patil Road, Pune for safe custody and care.

The parents of the children and Peddapuram Police expressed deep gratitude to the RPF for their swift action in tracing the boys and preventing them from possible harm or exploitation.

This successful operation once again highlights the RPF’s commitment to the safety and protection of children under Operation Nanhe Farishte.
