Sports Mania go down to DSouza F.A

PUNE.  Sports Mania suffered a heart break by going down to DSouza F.A 1-2, in Group-B of the AIFF Sub Junior 2024-25 at Cooperage, Mumbai, here on Monday. The loss was powered by a brace from Krsn Shetty, who scored a goal in each half. Monday’s loss, hampered Sports Mania points tally. Currently, Sports Mania has 11 points from 7 matches played in the league so far.

The loss was Pune-based Sports Mania’s first in their ‘away’ campaign and currently has (5 points, 4 matches) which includes 1 win, a loss and 2 drawn encounters from the four matches they played so far in ‘away’ matches. For the record, Sports Mania, meanwhile, at ‘home’ has one loss and two wins (6 points) from the 3 ‘home’ matches they played to their credit.

On Monday, in another mid-afternoon encounter, DSouza F.A had Krsn Shetty (35+2′) open the scoring in the deep in the first-session to take advantage. Changing ends,  Sports Mania once again doubled their lead when Krsn Shetty (67′) netted a double and handed DSouza F.A  a 2-0 advantage.

With the game rolling in DSouza advantage, a late second-half score by substitute Armaan Dave helped Sports Mania reduce the margin. Armaan had earlier come in the second half replacing R Karthikeya.

Earlier at ‘home’  Sports Mania had beaten DSouza F.A 3-2. Sports Mania now head ‘home’ to play Maharashtra Orange F.C on 27th March in a ‘home’ match.
