Ambulance Facility Introduced at Diesel Loco Shed, Pune for Employee Health and Safety
Pune. In a significant move to prioritise the health and safety of railway staff, Pune Division, Central Railway, has introduced an ambulance facility at the Diesel Loco Shed, Ghorpadi. The facility aims to provide timely medical assistance to employees in the event of an emergency.
The Diesel Loco Shed, Ghorpadi, is a critical railway facility where over 600 employees work across three shifts, primarily engaged in the maintenance and upkeep of locomotives. Given the nature of the work, occasional injuries are inevitable. In the past, limited exit routes and gate access sometimes resulted in delays in transporting injured employees to nearby hospitals.
Understanding the urgency of prompt medical support in such situations, the railway administration has now stationed an ambulance at the Diesel Loco Shed premises. This proactive step ensures immediate transportation and medical aid, offering a sense of security to the workforce.
