Pune : As part of the Ministry of External Affairs’ ongoing initiative to expedite passport issuance, a special Tatkaal Passport Drive is being organized at the Passport Seva Kendra (PSK), Pune on Saturday, 19th July 2025. The initiative aims to provide early appointments under the Tatkaal scheme for eligible citizens.
However, officials have urged applicants to thoroughly understand the eligibility criteria and mandatory documentation under the Tatkaal scheme. A large number of applicants are reportedly rejected due to incomplete documents or ineligibility, leading to inconvenience and delay.
✅ Mandatory Documents for Tatkaal Appointments:
Applicants must carry originals of the following documents for verification by Passport Authority and Police:
1. QR Code Birth Certificate with Aadhaar number
2. Class 10th (Matriculation) Passing Certificate
3. Existing Passport (if any)
4. Latest eAadhaar with scannable QR code
5. PAN Card with hologram
6. Voter ID with hologram sticker
7. Driving Licence
8. Marriage Certificate / Annexure J (for married applicants)
9. For Minors:
Duly filled Annexure D (parents’ consent form)
Passports of both parents
Important Advisory:
Smart ID cards, including cut-out Aadhaar/PAN/Voter IDs printed on plastic by private vendors, are NOT accepted.
Aadhaar alone is not a valid proof of Date of Birth.
Applicants are advised to scan and verify QR codes on documents using DigiLocker and mAadhaar apps before their appointment.
Only DigiLocker-issued documents (not uploaded PDFs) will be accepted, provided they were shared at the time of online application.The Regional Passport Office has emphasized that as per Section 5 of the Passport Act 1967 and Rule 5 of the Passport Rules 1980, the authority may demand any additional documentation to verify the applicant’s authenticity.
Citizens are advised to carefully follow guidelines and reach the PSK fully prepared to avoid appointment denial.
