Sunderji’s Vocational Institute for Young neurodiverse individual Adults Inaugurated

Pune.In it’s one-of-its-kind initiative towards empowering neurodiverse individuals, Sunderji’s Vocational Institute (SVI) was inaugurated at Burhani Colony, Market Yard, Pune recently. Dedicated to equipping young adults with special needs with essential life skills and vocational competencies, SVI aims to pave the way for their financial independence, dignity, and self-reliance.
The ceremony was graced by eminent dignitaries including Ms. Masarrat Tavawalla, Co-Founder and Director of Sunderji’s Global Academia ; Dr. Suneel Godbole, Dr. Ashwini Godbole; Dr. Zimra Israel; and Mr. Nilesh Bajaj. They were accompanied by guests of honour such as Ms. Aditi Bende: President of Rotary Club of Poona Downtown; Ms. Edwina Dias, Richard Lobo, Ms. Shikha Mitra: Ms. Rashmi Shah, along with several dedicated teachers, proud parents and enthusiastic students.
In her inspiring address, Ms. Masarrat Tavawalla shared, “Our ultimate goal is the financial independence of neurodiverse adults. The institute houses five transformative vocational labs — Digital Literacy, Baking, Housekeeping, Gardening and Fabric Enhancement – which a offer a 3 years programme. I am nothing but confident that this foundation will empower our students to grow, progress, and lead dignified, self-reliant lives.”
Valuable donors were acknowledged during the event, including Dr. Zimra Israel and Ms. Naomi Israel in memory of Raymond Joseph Israel, and Mr. Nilesh Bajaj in memory of his father Mr. Vallabh Bajaj, for their generous contributions towards making this vision a reality.
The occasion also marked the establishment of the Interact Club of Sunderji’s Stars and Student’s Council of Sunderji’s Institute of Special School, where elected
leaders were honoured with pins and certificates, fostering leadership and responsibility.
Ms. Aditi Bende highlighted, “INTERACT CLUB is a space where students can express themselves, build new skills, and grow into confident individuals. The Rotary Club of Poona Downtown remains committed to supporting these young minds as they discover their purpose and place in the world.”
